Alternate versions Differences between the theatrical release and the director's cut: After Brian Fantana comments on being hung over from the previous night's party, Champ states "I woke up on the floor of some Japanesse family's living room, and they would NOT stop screaming!
In the director's cut, Champ says "I woke up this morning and I shit a squirrel. The hell of it is, the damn thing's still alive. So I've got this shit covered squirrel down there in the office, and I don't know what to name it. The scene of Ron Burgundy walking around the office with an erection is extended by about fifteen seconds.
Ron daydreams of being married to Veronica, and has two children. After coming home from work, she appears from the kitchen in negligee, tells him that she's just prepared dinner in the nude, and they somewhat violently make out in the hallway.
The scene of Ron being carried away by the crowd after reading the phrase "Go fuck yourself, San Diego" on the air is extended, with Ron screaming, "I would never say fuck! I would never fucking ever fucking say that! User reviews Review. Top review. Will Ferrell creates the uber-manly character. This is a great film starring the hilarious Will Ferrell who plays Ron Burgandy the manly news anchor broadcasting live from the s San Diego.
The film looks great and the recreation to a time gone by is incredibly accurate. Of course it is the performances that will have you in splits and everyone from Paul Rudd to Steve Carrell is outstanding, as is Christina Applegate. Will Ferrell however towers over everyone-this is his movie and Ron Burgandy is a character I know is bound to become legendary.
FAQ 3. What are the differences between the theatrical cut and the unrated cut of the movie? Details Edit. Release date July 9, United States. United States. Please insert a valid video URL. Download Dropbox Convert next. The Kooks - Naive. The Alarm Clock angle works in bits, but is too thin to serve as a framing device. The character build-up that made "Anchorman" so immersive is shortchanged here. Most of that made the first film.
Fans of Champ Kind Dave Koechner will enjoy the wild man acting even wilder here; one moment he's a raving homosexual, five minutes later he's a raging cannibal. Brick Tamland Steve Carell lunches on used coffee filters. In addition to Everett his send-up of the serenely sleazy Moondragon aided by a strong late-career resemblance to Clint Eastwood , there's a brief killer cameo from Stephen Root as a fill-in anchor.
Like I said, it's all sweet stuff if you're an "Anchorman" lover. But it's definitely not the sleeper classic "Anchorman" has become. It's definitely more self-indulgent in its humor and fitful in its direction. I will be truthful.
It was not as good as the original anchorman, but it was still good, in it's own way. The continuing story of Ron Burgundy and his girlfriend Veronica. This time, Ron goes too far Veronica sends Ron on a mission to a fake newscast. The fun discontinued though, after Veronica finds out that Ron could be dead. She begins to worry, and goes out by herself, looking for him.
All of the news anchors end up kidnapped. And afterwards, when they are freed, Ron and Veronica fall in love again. This movie deserves the same recognition that its predecessor, "Anchorman" had. It may not have been the same caliber as the original, but is just as fun when it comes down to the story.
I laughed, I cried, I loved it. Med-Jasta 19 June This is really really funny. I didn't know what to expect with a "deleted scenes" movie. Usually deleted scenes are deleted for a good reason and I don't bother watching them usually. I thought it would be clunky and weird. It wasn't. It was weird how cohesive this was.
The only thing that I didn't like was that they try to play this off as happening after the original movie. Which works for the most part and if we hadn't seen the first movie this could work. But when Veronica and Ron go on their first date and you can see that Veronica is repulsed and not madly in love like they're claiming. Any awkwardness or confusion, which isn't much comes from this repurposing of these scenes. It would have worked better as "here's also what was going on. That's my only gripe, which is small.
For a special features movie this is fantastic. And I can't complain with more Anchorman. These scenes are totally on par with the movie. Just as many good lines. I was very hesitant to watch this and if you like the movie you'll like this. There's no getting around it. Donatien3 9 July Normally when movies come out on DVD, they have a handful of deleted scenes, left out for obvious reasons.
What's more impressive is the material left out of the original is just as funny - at times even more - than 'Anchorman'. While some scenarios are repeated the pool party, Ron and Veronica's date, Ron's practical jokes on Veronica, Ron's slide into depression after getting fired , WURB not only has a different plot - a group of robbers known as The Alarm Clock terrorize San Diego - it also builds on the characterisation alluded to in the original.
In WURB, we learn about Brick's past, Veronica's motivation for becoming an anchorlady, the extent of Champ's homosexuality and his infatuation with Ron and more on Ed Harken and his troubled son. Some of the scenes deserve to be included in Anchorman folklore: Champ's hillariously awkward confession of love to Ron, Ron's inability to read the news without a teleprompter, and Ron's Mother Nature-loving literatelly mentor.
My only criticism of this film is the narration, which sets the film up as a sequel to Anchorman, and feels a bit out of place. While it probably won't surpass the original as a comedy classic, it's a brilliant companion piece which is more than just a collection of deleted scenes, it's a movie in its own right. However it was unfortunately only available as a bonus disc to the original movie and not readily available on region 1, and it wasn't even released on region 3.
Hence I was quite happy to finally buy this with Anchorman in Oz. Was it worth the wait? Yes, and no. I hadn't known beforehand that this "movie" was made of various cut extended scenes and deleted scenes and such, and so it's not quite as coherent as a normal movie. Still, there's effort put into the cutting and pasting, and the result is indubitably more fun and easier than watching the individual scenes as standalones the way they are typically relegated as in DVD bonus features, which I don't even bother to watch, usually.
